Louisville now has 15 breweries with more scheduled to open in 2018. If you count southern Indiana and Oldham county, the number is well over 20. I love trying new breweries and supporting local businesses and I’ve been to all of the breweries in Louisville, southern Indiana, and Lexington. But I didn’t know much about the history of beer in Louisville until I read Louisville Beer by Kevin Gibson.
We were fortunate to have Kevin speak at an event this summer. He covered a few of the topics in his book including:
- The Importance of Beer
- The German Influx
- Rise of Breweries
- New Breweries in Louisville
We are excited to announce that Kevin has joined up with us again for another event on January 25 at 3rd Turn Brewery. Not only will we have a Louisville writer at a Louisville brewery speaking about the beer history in Louisville, the event also supports a Louisville non profit, Active Heroes! We hope you will be able to join us.
